Festival Chamber Orchestra
Conductor – Stephen Barlow
Voice – Polly Gibbons
Tenor Saxophone – Paul Booth
Oboe – Ian Crowther
Mozart to Motown builds upon one of our previous concerts, Bach to Bowie, which proved highly successful. We are delighted that Polly Gibbons can join us, together with superb saxophonist Paul Booth, hence via Getz, as Paul will perform ‘Her’ from the iconic Focus Album by Stan Getz. The programme will include some popular and lesser known Classical pieces together with some famous popular tunes of the 1960’s finishing with the Motown Sound.
Polly Gibbons has been described ‘as a jazz talent whose voice is also steeped in vintage R & B with shades of Aretha Franklin’ ( The Jazz times).
Paul Booth’s tenor sax soloing is fluent and elegant, unhurried with no sense of bluster. The Concert promises an exciting mix of styles with some wonderful Mozart and Salieri through to Dusty, Procol Harum and The Motown Sound.

W A Mozart. Symphony no 29 (First and final movs.)
